AE - Minor PeeWee - Champions at home in Barrie!
Submitted By Kathleen McMillan on Sunday, November 26, 2017
Congratulations to the Cube-It Minor PeeWee AE Barrie Colts on winning the GOLD at home, in the Canadian Tire Classic Tournament!

The team went undefeated in the round robin, defeating the Richmond Hill Stars 8-2, the Oakridge Aeros 10-0, the Kitchener Jr. Rangers 3-2 and the Ancaster Avalanche 5-0. They were tested in the semi-final when the North London Nationals scored 3 quick goals, putting us down 3-0. After a much needed time out, the boys refocused and came together as a team, tying the game at 3 before the end of the 1st period. Barrie went on to score 4 more goals, winning 7-4! The championship game was a match up against Whitby – the only other undefeated team in our division. After a scoreless first period, Barrie stayed disciplined and played their game, ultimately being crowned Champions after a 2-0 win!

It was an exciting weekend, with the arenas packed full of local teams and Barrie fans! The boys had 202 shots on net and only 82 shots against, finishing with 35 goals for and only 8 goals against. It took all 17 players to win this tournament and the coaching staff could not be more proud of all of them!

Thank you once again to the families for all of their support over the weekend! Go Colts Go!
