Major Peewee Select Finalists Fergus Fall Frenzy
Submitted By Niki Grant on Monday, November 27, 2017
The Major Peewee team checked into the tournament on Friday evening with a special message to the host city.  It was a message of condolence and compassion for the loss of a Bantam player from the Centre of Wellington.  The team delivered a card to the Tournament Director and the Vice President.  This really seemed to set the tone for the weekend of how this team represented Barrie.

They started off with three victories scoring nineteen goals and the goalies stood on their heads earning three shutouts.  They faced the Waterloo Wolves in the semi finals and what an intense nail biter ending in a 2-2 tie.  Our goalie stood tall in the shootout stopping all three shooters.  Barrie shooters were up and the Waterloo goalie stopped the first two but our final shooter went high blocker side and scored to send Barrie to the finals.  We were up against the undefeated Toronto George Bell Titans.  Barrie got off to a slow start and we were losing at the end of the first 2-0 but with persistence and relentless effort they came back to bring it to 3-2.  It was intense to the final second of the game where they continued to pressure but it ended in a 3-2 victory for the Titans.  When the coaches came to shake hands with the Barrie Coaches they said what a fantastic game and your boys are the MOST SPORTSMANLIKE team we have ever played.  They were so impressed that our boys congratulated them on a hard fought win.  Congratulations boys on being finalists in the Fergus Fall Frenzy and the unbelievable character you showed this weekend.
