Early Bird Champions in Ajax!
Congratulations to the FurnaceDepot.ca PeeWee A White Barrie Colts on bringing home GOLD from the Ajax ‘Break The Ice’ Tournament!

The team dominated the round robin, defeating the West Hill Golden Hawks 11-0, the East Gwillimbury Eagles 10-0 and the Newmarket Redmen 4-0. They were tested in the quarter-finals but came together as a team, defeating the Clarington Toros 3-0. The semi-final game gave the Newmarket Redmen the re-match they were after but Barrie stuck to their plan and controlled the game, winning 7-1!

The final game saw the boys facing their toughest competition of the tournament, the Quinte West Hawks. Both teams came out strong, with the first period ending scoreless. After a penalty early in the second, Barrie found themselves down 1-0. They turned up the pressure, tying the game less than 2 minutes later and taking the lead by the end of the second 2-1. They dominated the third period, scoring 4 more goals and becoming Champions, with a convincing 6-1 win! Great job boys!

It was an amazing weekend overall, with the boys bonding quickly and playing as a unit all 6 games! Barrie had 143 shots on net and 82 shots against, finishing with 41 goals for and only 2 goals against. It took the entire team working together to win this tournament and the coaching staff could not be more proud of all of them!

Thank you to the families for all of their support over the weekend and to our sponsor FurnaceDepot.ca, for all of your support and contributions to our team thus far! Go Colts Go!
