BMHA Celebrates 50 years
Submitted By Kelly Beamish on Wednesday, June 24, 2015
This year, the Barrie Minor Hockey Association celebrates 50 years in hockey. In 1965 the company was established with 4 teams

representing Barrie in the Ontario Minor Hockey Association. Five decades later, BMHA has successfully grown to approximately 138 teams and is a well recognized hockey community with a total of 67 OMHA Championship titles from 1965 to the present.

Over the years, BMHA has attempted several initiatives to help improve the association both on and off the ice. From Barrie Minor Hockey to the Barrie Flyers and then to the Barrie Colts, our mission has always been “to develop, encourage and maximize inclusive hockey opportunities for all players and volunteers to participate in the pursuit of excellence” and each year BMHA strives to achieve this mission to the best of our ability through our staff, executives, committees, and volunteers. Reaching this pivotal milestone is a reflection of the people within the association; therefore, thank you for all the work and countless hours you have put in.

For the 2015/2016 season BMHA would like to turn the pages back. This season we will be bringing back our original Barrie Minor Hockey logo and colours. We encourage all members to get involved and continue the proud tradition of our association this year as BMHA celebrates the past 50 years.

Barrie Minor Hockey will stock anniversary items in the office in small numbers.  Teams will also have the opportunity to be sized and order as a team for clothing items directly from Roys Enterprise.

Replica baby blue jerseys can also be custom ordered with personal number and name.  Orders can be submitted to the BMHA office.  We have 2 order deadlines – Aug. 1st and Sept. 1st with a 6 week turnaround.  The Christmas order deadline is Oct. 1st again with a 6 week turnaround.
