Minor Midget A teams, the Scotiabank Orillia
Terriers and Paul Sadlon’s Barrie Blue had a game in Barrie
on Mon Dec 18th at which the teams decided to shot for a different
goal by collecting food for Barrie’s
Food Bank. In total the teams collected
499 pounds of food to help meet the needs in Barrie.
The Orillia Terriers had already collected and donated 900 pounds of food to the “Sharing Place Food Bank” in Orillia the week before. Thank you Terriers for your support!
On the ice the Terriers won a hard fought game 6 to 5, but the real winner were the food banks in Orillia & Barrie. It is amazing what can be accomplished when two rivals have a common goal to help their communities.
A special thank you to the Pro-Star Sports Excellence Novice AA team who as well as participating in Coach4Food and Adopt-A-Family helped collect food for our food drive. Way to go boys! Great job of giving back to your community.
Go Terriers! Go Colts!
