Triple Crown - Champions in London
This Past Weekend, Coach Luke McAuley and his Atom Black Knights traveled to London, Ontario as Defending Champions of the Jayden Elmore Tournament.  Where 10 teams from Southern Ontario would battle it out for the Cup, and although this team is comprised of only a handful of players from the previous year they showed the same grit and skill.  Coming out of the Round Robin with No Losses they secured their buy into the Semi-Finals where they were to face off against the equally Unblemished 4-0 Kitchener team.  Although this wasn't the finals this turned out to be the Most Intense Game of the Tournament for our Team!

After 3-10 Minute periods, the game was headed to a 5 minute sudden death.  When no victors were decided, it was 3 on 3 time.  With lots of action on both sides of the rink, they had everyone wondering who would get the deciding goal and advance.  Then after five minutes it happened.  The BUZZER SOUNDED, but not because a Victor had been decided, but to signal the end of the 3vs3!!! Really we are going to go to a Shoot-Out!?!?
The decisions were made on who would take the penalty-shots and the first pair of shooters from either team lined up on either side of center ice.  Our first shooter, who can only be judged by the size of his heart for the game,
bedazzled the goalie and had him looking all around only to inevitably see the puck behind him on the other side of the goal crease.  With their first shooter ricocheting the puck off the crossbar the Barrie team fans went wild!
Even with valiant attempts from our other two shooters, both sides were unable to get any other goals past the outstanding Goaltending.  So there you have it, after 45 mins of very intense hockey our boys had prevailed and made it to the Finals against Waterloo.  This game although not nearly as Climatic as the previous game held some intense moments, and all the boys contributed to the effort.  So the Barrie Black Knights prevailed as returning champions, winning 2-1.
To all the Parents/Grandparents who came all weekend and supported their Children, we Thank-You.  For the Coaching Staff and Boys this was the Final Jewel in the Crown of their Tournament Season.  All of them it should be
noted as Tournament Champions! Congratulations!!! We Are Very Proud of your Efforts.
