Vaughan Early Bird Champions
Congratulations
to the Barrie Colts Peewee AA team on winning the 2015 Vaughan Early Bird
Tournament. After posting a 2-1-0 record in the round robin games, Barrie
met the Leeside Flames in the semi finals overcoming a 3-1 deficit to force
overtime. After the game could not be decided in overtime, Barrie
prevailed in a shoot out lasting seven players a side thanks to some stellar
goaltending and clutch goal scoring. In the finals, Barrie faced off
against the Mississauga Terriers who had given Barrie their only loss in the
round robin. A solid game at both ends of the ice for the full 40 minute
contest resulted in a 3-1 victory and the championship going to Barrie.
