Minor Bantam AA Barrie Colts are International SilverStick Champions
Between January 14-17, the Joe Johnson Equipment Minor Bantam AA Barrie Colts went undefeated over six games to win the International SilverStick Championship.  The team qualified for the "Tournament of Champions" by winning the Alliston Regional Tournament in late-December.

This Championship was a complete team effort, with every player contributing.  Never allowing more than two goals in a single game all weekend, the Barrie team played tremendous defense.

After a hard-fought round-robin, Barrie faced the Traverse City North Stars in the semi-finals where the game went to overtime with goalie Jason Howell closing the door again-and-again, and captain Aidan DesForges scoring the overtime winner for a 2-1 win.

Goalie Owen Kellachan solidly backstopped the Colts to victory over the Troy-Michigan Sting in a hard-fought final.  Rylee Hlusiak, who scored in every game of the tournament, opened the scoring in the first with assists going to Joey Johnson and Quinn Walker.  The Sting tied the game on the power-play in the second period.  Johnson scored early in the third with what proved to be the game winner from Hlusiak and Cameron Knight.  Late in the third, DesForges added an insurance marker with assists going-to Hlusiak and Johnny Protopapas, handing the Colts a 3-1 victory and the coveted Silver Stick.

Members of the Minor Bantam AA Colts are:  Owen Kellachan, Kyle Padley, Jason Howell, Jayden Steele, Patrick Galloway, Joey Johnson, Rylee Hlusiak, Johnny Protopapas, Josh Harrison, Cael Cavallin, Ethan Pegg, Aidan DesForges, Errick Evenhuis, Quinn Walker, Connor Dumond, Preston Howard, Brayden Barney, Alex Howard and Cameron Knight.   Coaches are Steve McDonald, Mike Berry, Mike Walker, Sue Howell and Joe Johnson.
