MINOR PEEWEE "A" SEALS SILVER IN OMHA FINALS!

On Saturday, March 19th at the Holly Community Centre, the Barrie Colts Minor Peewee 'A' team, sponsored by Image Dental Laboratory, played in Game 3 of the OMHA finals versus the #1 ranked team in Ontario, the Essex Ravens and earned a Silver medal.  The road to the finals hasn’t been an easy one.  The Colts competed hard and won in the semi-finals against the #3 ranked team – the Whitby Wildcats Blue, taking the series to a Game 6 and earning 3 wins, 2 losses and 1 tie.

The OMHA final series against the formidable Essex Ravens showcased some hard fought battles!  The Colts lost the first 2 games in Essex, 2-1 and 3-1. Back on their home ice for Game 3, the Colts had the lead heading into the second period. The Ravens flourished in the second period scoring 4 goals, skillfully capitalizing on their power plays.  The final empty net goal for the Ravens sealed the Colts fate, forcing them into a 5-2 loss.  Both Colts’ goals came from right winger, Owen Fralick.  Goalie James Tower stood on his head for this game. Both goalies (Blake White) were stellar during the playoffs and instrumental in bringing the Colts to the finals.

The Barrie Colts A team played with unparalleled tenacity, competing intensely in a vigorous playoff series and proudly donning their Silver medals in their hometown. They finished the season with an outstanding 44-13-7 record! The team would like to extend a big thank you to their sponsors, Image Dental Laboratory!
