BACK to BACK - OMHA Titles
Congratulations to the Minor Bantam AE White on their OMHA
Win. BACK TO BACK Wins!
It has been said that this team never does anything the easy
way, but no matter what they always come out on top.
Coming first in the regular season by one point the Dr. Bob
Stick Repair Minor Bantam AE White team began the road to the OMHAs by first
facing an old rival the Stouffville Clippers.
Winning the round in four games the Colts were set to face their nemesis
the Aurora Tigers.
The OMHAs quarter finals was a repeat of the previous season. Down 2 games to 1 to the Aurora Tigers, the Colts with their backs to the wall, fought back winning game four in overtime and subsequently winning game 5.
Representing the York Simcoe loop the Barrie Colts swept the Oshawa Generals in the OMHA semi-finals, which meant that Barrie would face the Ancaster Avalanche, a team that had dominated their own OMHA playoff run!
Both teams were determined to show the other that “they” were the best AE team in the Province. Both teams having won the OMHA title for their respective areas the previous year, the winner would earn bragging rights!
After 225 minutes of hockey, five games of 15-15-15, the Barrie Colts once again wearing the #REDHATS lifted the OMHA Trophy above their heads to their fans delight.
