Minor Atom A - OMHA CHAMPS!
The Furnace Depot Minor Atom A Barrie Colts won the coveted red hats on the weekend, defeating the Essex Ravens 7-0 in game 4 of the series.

The team's playoff journey started with a sweep of the East Gwillimbury Eagles. The team then moved on to play their division rivals, the Orillia Terriers. This series was very tight and needed to go to a sixth game, in order to determine a winner. The Colts came away with 2-1 victory, which moved them into the OMHA semi-final round against the Whitby Blue Wildcats. After two games, the series was tied. Game three was won by the Colts with a final score of 3-2. The fourth game saw some exciting goals and a penalty shot with less than two minutes to go, which the Colts scored on to win the game and the series!

The OMHA finals involved the Colts facing the Essex Ravens. The Colts won the first two games by scores of 2-1 and 3-1, then made the long trek down the 401 to Windsor. One last hotel stay for the team. A loss on Saturday by a score of 2-1 forced a game 4 on Sunday. The team came out very determined to end the series with this game. A very strong first period put the Colts team up 4-0. The team was relentless and continued pressuring the Ravens for the remaining two periods, convinced they were going to win their red hats. As the final seconds ticked down, the Colts fans, players and coaches cheered on a 7-0 victory. The team played a near flawless game, in order to capture the OMHA championship!

The coaching staff would like to thank the players and their families for their dedication throughout the season. Countless hours of hard work and commitment earned the players the title of OMHA CHAMPS!   We would like to thank BMHA and our sponsor Furnace Depot for their continued support throughout the season.
