PeeWee Scotiabank Teal (White Division) – Tournament Champions
Submitted By Niki Grant on Friday, February 16, 2018
The Barrie Colts Scotiabank Teal team participated in the 16th Annual Oakridge Aeros House League Classic in London from February 9-11, 2018. The boys played their best hockey of the year and were rewarded with the Championship.

In their round robin play on Friday, the boys grabbed a 4-1 win against North London and shut out the Oakridge Aeros 4-0.  A Saturday afternoon 3-3 tie with Oakridge B6 gave the boys the rest of the day off and a date to the semifinals on Sunday.

In the semifinal crossover game, the boys continued their excellent team effort and defeated West London A6 by a score of 4-1.

The win set up a championship game against an undefeated Kitchener Inferno team who had only given up 3 goals in their four matches.  Kitchener was well prepared and our boys had their work cut out for them.  Finding themselves down 2-0 going into the third, Barrie was able to rally and score a quick goal to start the period.  The boys took advantage of the shift in momentum and netted a short-handed goal minutes later.  It was a well-fought battle by both teams for the remainder of the game, ending regulation in a tie.  In a 3-on-3 overtime period, the boys moved the puck well and dominated the possession game.  In a scramble in front of Kitchener’s net with a minute remaining, the boys buried the rebound to win the championship.

The bench staff would like to congratulate all team members on their hard work and thank all family members for their support during this snowy fun-filled weekend.
