Will Cushnaghan
My name is Will Cushnaghan,
I am the 2025-2026 Head coach of the Barrie Colts U10AA Team.
Experience:
Head coach with over four years experience in youth hockey. Am dedicated to developing player's skills and fostering teamwork. Demonstrates strong leadership by organizing effective training sessions and selecting a cohesive coaching team .Passionate about creating supportive environments that enhance player confidence and character development ,while maintaining clear performance goals for team and individual growth.
Philosophy:
My coaching philosophy reflects a well-rounded approach that emphasizes both personal development and the importance of teamwork:
1.Have Fun -Enjoying the process is essential for long-term motivation and engagement. A fun environment keeps athletes excited ,helping them grow while maintaining passion for the sport.
2.Work Hard- Success comes from consistent effort. Encouraging athletes to give their best every day helps develop discipline ,perseverance, and resilience.
3.Compete-Competing isn't just about winning; its about pushing yourself to improve. Competing with intensity and respect for opponents teaches athletes to strive for excellence while respecting the sport.
4.Be Disciplined-Discipline builds character. By fostering a culture of accountability and responsibility, athletes learn the importance of focus, time management commitment .
5. Display Sportsmanship- True sportsmanship is about respect for the games ,the players, and the officials. Athletes should understand that how they handle both victory and defeat is as important as the result itself.
6.Be a Leader in the Community-Leadership extends beyond the rink. Encouraging athletes to be positive role models in the community fosters a sense of responsibility and social awareness ,making them better individuals and citizens. This philosophy blends the joy of sport with the lessons that extend far beyond the rink

years of coaching experience for BMHA at various age levels. Rudy has had an
exceptional record over the past 4 years as head coach for the 2010 AA

exceptionally skilled team, but also has made the team culture an important
part of his coaching, that proudly represents the city of Barrie and has been
