Philosophy:
My coaching philosophy reflects a well-rounded approach that emphasizes both personal development and the importance of teamwork:
1.Have Fun -Enjoying the process is essential for long-term motivation and engagement. A fun environment keeps athletes excited ,helping them grow while maintaining passion for the sport.
2.Work Hard- Success comes from consistent effort. Encouraging athletes to give their best every day helps develop discipline ,perseverance, and resilience.
3.Compete-Competing isn't just about winning; its about pushing yourself to improve. Competing with intensity and respect for opponents teaches athletes to strive for excellence while respecting the sport.
4.Be Disciplined-Discipline builds character. By fostering a culture of accountability and responsibility, athletes learn the importance of focus, time management commitment .
5. Display Sportsmanship- True sportsmanship is about respect for the games ,the players, and the officials. Athletes should understand that how they handle both victory and defeat is as important as the result itself.
6.Be a Leader in the Community-Leadership extends beyond the rink. Encouraging athletes to be positive role models in the community fosters a sense of responsibility and social awareness ,making them better individuals and citizens. This philosophy blends the joy of sport with the lessons that extend far beyond the rink

As a former collegiate hockey player, I bring strong technical knowledge, a team-first philosophy, and a deep commitment to helping every athlete grow both on and off the ice. At the core of my coaching approach is a belief in creating an environment where athletes can have fun, work hard, and compete with purpose. Coaching
Philosophy
My goal as a
coach goes beyond wins and standings, I’m here to help shape confident,
disciplined, and resilient young athletes who carry those traits with them both
on and off the ice.
I believe in
building a team culture rooted in accountability, respect, and relentless
effort. Every player brings value to the team, and every role is vital to our
success.
I focus heavily
on strong fundamentals, hockey IQ, and team-first play, creating a structured
environment that still allows for creativity and smart decision-making. My
coaching style is high-energy and purposeful; designed to challenge players
while fostering a deep love for the game.
Play hard.
Play smart. Earn every shift. That’s our standard, and that’s how we grow, together.Brian Langman
About the Coach
Brian Langman has been coaching minor hockey with BMHA for over 8
years and brings a wealth of knowledge and experience coaching minor hockey.
Brians strengths are coaching players to excel in a non-contact, competitive
environment. He has always strived to develop the skills and abilities of every
individual player to create a team-first focused environment. Brian believes
that no one player is greater than the team, and instils the values of
sportsmanship, dedication and hard work to ultimately achieve the goal the Team
sets for itself at the beginning of the year.
About BB Hockey
BB hockey is different from other competitive divisions as body
checking is not permitted. The game itself changes as a result; clutching,
grinding and hitting normally found in hockey is removed from the game. The
game opens up and often has a faster pace. Players who make this team will need
to skate hard and make quick, smart decisions, in order to be successful.
Mission
Statement
The purpose of the U16 BB team is to provide
quality leadership and coaching to develop the understanding of teamwork and
sportsmanship in a competitive atmosphere with positive reinforcement for all
players. Players will instill BMHA’s core values of community spirit,
fellowship, team play; promote determination, hard work, and positive life
skills; and to foster community volunteerism.
