South Simcoe Ball Hockey
Submitted By Niki Grant on Monday, March 12, 2018
Now that the ice hockey season is almost over its time to keep the kids focused and what a better way to improve your hockey skills in the off-season with the best dry land training the game has to offer.

The South Simcoe Ball Hockey Leagues uses full indoor city rinks and runs its season from mid April to late June.

All games will be played indoors in the cities full size hockey rinks.

We are the only league that is registered as a NOT FOR PROFIT organization in the city and are currently proud members of the OBHF (Ontario Ball Hockey Federation).

We are also the only league that is recognized by the OHF (Ontario Hockey Federation) and Hockey Canada and has the support of BMHA (Barrie Minor Hockey Association)

Players enrolled in our program will increase their ability to read the play while developing stickhandling creativity. They will improve on their hand-eye coordination while building strength and increasing their cardio ability.

We currently offer the following co-ed and girl divisions

·        Squirt – 2012-2013 (learn to play)

·        Tyke – 2010-2011

·        Novice – 2008-2009

·        Atom – 2006-2007

·        Peewee – 2004-2005

·        Highschool – 2000-2003 (Team Registration Only)

·        Girls U10 (2008 or after)

·        Girls U12 (2006 or after)

·        Girls U14 (2004 or after)

·        Girls U16 (2002 or after)

All our divisions with the exception of Squirt will receive a Jersey, Shorts and Socks whereas the Squirts will only receive a Jersey and Socks.

While we offer a houseleague recreation of play for everyone our more talented individuals will also have the opportunity of being selected for the South Simcoe provincial team, which will compete at the South Simcoe Championships and the OBHF Provincials later in the season. At those events there may also be the possibility of being scouted for one of the CBHA Junior Team Canada teams (U16, U18 and U20)

For more information regarding our program please visit us at http://www.southsimcoebhl.com or send us an email at [email protected]. We can also be searched on the more popular social media websites like Facebook and Twitter (@BarrieBallHKY)

The South Simcoe Ball Hockey League continues to offer high school community service, and volunteer hours. We will also be offering referee certification clinics in early April for children and adults who wish to earn extra money in the summer months.
