Silver in Halton Hills!
Congratulations to the FurnaceDepot.ca PeeWee A White Barrie Colts on capturing SILVER at the Halton Hills ‘Best of The Best’ Tournament!

The team went undefeated in the round robin, defeating the Grimsby Kings 3-2, the Mississippi Thunder Kings 6-3, the Vaughan Panthers 7-1 and the Caledon Hawks 1-0. The semi-final game gave the Caledon Hawks the re-match they were after, but Barrie stuck to their game plan and controlled the game as a team, winning 5-0! Great job boys!

The final game saw the boys facing their toughest competition of the tournament, the AA Waterloo Wolves. After a scoreless first period, Barrie landed in some penalty trouble and found themselves down 3-0 early in the third. They were able to get themselves on the board with 3 minutes left in the game and pulled the goalie to build off the momentum, but Waterloo sealed the deal with an empty net goal, winning 4-1.

Although this was not the end result we were hoping for, it was still a great weekend! The boys showed that when they work together and play our brand of hockey, they are a force to be reckoned with. We were extremely strong in between the pipes all weekend, with both goalies seeing shutouts and only allowing 10 goals, from 93 shots against! The coaching staff is extremely proud of every single player. Hold your heads high boys – we only build from here!

Thank you to the families for all of their support over the weekend and to our sponsor FurnaceDepot.ca! Thanks to their generosity, we were able to organize a Thanksgiving potluck in between games for our entire team. We appreciate your support and contributions to our team thus far!
