BMHA President's Message on Return to Hockey
Important Registration Update
Dear Barrie Minor Hockey Families,
I hope this message finds you and your families in good health and staying safe during these unprecedented times.
On behalf of the BMHA board, I wanted to share some current information for the BMHA members as it relates to the recent Hockey Canada Return to Hockey Plan. Hockey Canada and its provincial members are working closely with governments and health units to have a plan ready for hockey when it is deemed it is safe to get to the rinks and drop the puck.
As the return-to-hockey plan progresses, it will do so at different speeds, and at different times, across the country, based on direction from health authorities. And the game will look different, that much we do know. We ask for patience as we continue to work towards ensuring hockey plays its role in bringing the sports community back.
We do not yet know when the upcoming season will begin, and this leaves many people with lots of questions. Having said this, your board continues to plan and work through the planning process to be ready when we can get back on the ice.
As many conditions for the upcoming season are still not confirmed at this time, the board has decided to hold off any type of registration process. Until then, continue to follow the guidelines set out by the provincial government to help limit the spread of COVID-19. Only by working together will we be able to make a difference and safely return.
