Vaccination Policy Update
Submitted By Rebecca Bye on Tuesday, September 21, 2021
The BMHA has been busy preparing for the upcoming season and part of this process has been to get some clarity as it pertains to the Vaccination policies. We will briefly outline the information we have been given but ask that you visit the sites of those mentioned within.

Recently, the OMHA, our governing body, announced that all participants and members of an organization including Players, Coaches, Trainers, Referees, Time Keepers, and Directors must be fully vaccinated by October 31, 2021.  At this time we are working with our Executive under the guidance of the OMHA on how to best to carry out the collection of this information.

OMHA Vaccine Mandate

All participants taking part in BMHA programming at National Training Rinks, or any other facility in which we are an ice user must follow the protocols of those facilities, please visit NTR’s website for their policies.

NTR Barrie

Earlier today the City of Barrie released the policy which will be effective tomorrow, Sept 22, 2021. Below is a summary of that announcement but we ask that you visit their link below for the policy as written.

City of Barrie Proof of Vaccine Policy

Who needs to show proof of vaccination at City recreation/culture centers:

·         Patrons/Spectators aged 18 and older

·         Patrons/Spectators aged 12-17 (not participating)

·         Participants using weight rooms or exercise equipment (all ages)

·         Any youth aged 12-17 not actively participating in an organized sport

As a user group it is our duty to respect the mandates and policies put forth by our Governing bodies as well as our City Officials, we ask that our members respect these policies as well as the employees of these facilities.
