Minor Bantam AE Additional Team
Submitted By Kelly Beamish on Thursday, May 22, 2014
Barrie Minor Hockey will launch, as a pilot project, an additional Minor Bantam AE team for the 2014 – 2015 season.

Coaching applications for this team are being accepted from now until May 30/14.

Selected applicants will be interviewed June 2 – 6, as per our rep coach selection process.

Coach will be announced June 6.

Only BMHA house league registered players living within our OMHA Rep boundaries are eligible for these tryouts. (House league registration begins May 26).

Tryouts for this additional team will be held at Allandale Recreation Centre (Blue)

June 9               6:00pm - 7:00pm

June 12             6:00pm - 7:00pm

June 13             6:30pm – 7:30pm

Tryout fee $50 - for those players that did not previously register for spring tryouts (ALL players interested in trying out for the M. Bantam AE team MUST call the office to register)

It is important to understand that this will be a second tiered team for the division with the Tier 1 team selected in the recent spring tryouts.  This Minor Bantam AE team will fall within the York Simcoe Hockey League and will play within the same loop as the Tier 1 Minor Bantam team.  There will be times when both the Tier 1 and Tier 2 Minor Bantam AE teams will play each other.  Should the addition of this AE team be successful, Barrie Minor Hockey will explore the possibility of extending AE teams to those divisions deemed in need of expansion in the coming years.

With the expansion of the AE team pilot, it is hoped to further player development within our association.  It is important that participants within this expansion team understand fully that the goal is player development and not necessarily games won or lost.

Tryout registration will be done through the BMHA office.  Please contact us at 705-734-1121
