BMHA 2026–2027 Rep Player Evaluation Policy

1. Purpose of This Document

This policy outlines the official procedures, requirements, and expectations for all players participating in the Barrie Minor Hockey Association (BMHA) Rep evaluations for the 2026–2027 season. It is designed to ensure a fair, transparent, and consistent evaluation process for all participants.

2. Player Selection Philosophy

Player selection is based on more than tryout performance alone. Additional factors include previous season conduct, attendance, coachability, positional needs, and overall team dynamics. These elements help ensure that team formation supports both competitive success and a positive developmental environment for all players.

3. General Evaluation Guidelines

·        Players may begin the evaluation process at any level they choose but must declare their starting level at registration.

·        Once declared, the player must start at that level.

·        Players must attend all evaluations at their declared level to remain eligible, unless:

o   directed otherwise by the coach, or

o   offered a letter of commitment at any point during evaluations.

·        No player may join an evaluation after the first skate of that level has begun.

·        Players must be registered to attend any BMHA evaluation.

·        Registration closes at 5:00 PM the day prior to the first evaluation of each level (no exceptions).

·        If a player is offered a letter of commitment, it must be accepted by 12:00 PM the following day.

o   Failure to accept by this deadline renders the player ineligible for the remainder of the tryouts.

4. New Barrie Residents

·        New Barrie residents must provide proof of residency in accordance with standard BMHA policy to be considered a resident player.

·        If proof of residency is not provided at the time of registration, the player will be classified as an Out-of-Town (Non-Resident) Player.

·        Please see Appendix A for the boundary map.

5. Registration & Fees

·        Evaluation fee: $130.00

·        Registration for the first evaluation at any level closes at 5:00 PM the day prior (no exceptions)

·        No refunds will be issued once a player is registered for evaluations.
