Never Say Die
The "Never-say-die" Barrie Colts PeeWee AA -
Champions in the Richmond Hill Tournament
On the September 5-7 weekend, the Barrie Colts PeeWee AA
team won the highly-competitive Richmond Hill Early Bird Tournament in dramatic
fashion.
The Colts battled to 4 and 0 in the tough round-robin play, and then scored in overtime to beat the Markham Waxers in the semi-finals. Facing a 2-0 deficit late in the final game versus the Vaughan Panthers, the Colts stayed poised and scored with 4 minutes remaining to close to within one, and scored with 26 seconds left to tie the game. The Colts then scored in overtime, again, to win the Championship. Barrie goaltender Jason "Red-Light" Howell backstopped all six games over the weekend in all-star fashion, frustrating the opposition on every shift.
