BMHA Teams in the Community
Our teams have been busy in the community!
Bantam A
On Wed. Dec. 10th, the Bantam A Colts team attended St. Mary’s Church in support of Out of the Cold. The boys filled 10 backpacks with toiletries, pyjama bottoms, hats, mitts, socks and Christmas treats for men who are in need. These backpacks are given to the guests who stay on Christmas Eve so that they too receive a Christmas gift. The boys also spent some time helping to set up for that evening and listened to Carol Forget, the coordinator for the program, share some information. It was an awesome experience for the boys to recognize the needs within their community.
Midget A
The Midget A team participated in Movember, raising $5,000 in donations to go towards the awareness of men’s health and sport related head injuries.
Minor Peewee AE
The Minor Peewee AE team fundraised for Walk a Mile in her Shoes.
Midget AA
Please see attached a few pictures of the boys in action donating stocking stuffer items that they brought and placed in a large decorated box in the centre of the ice as they entered the ice.
Stouffville Minor without any hesitation jumped in to join the Midget AA team in their effort to collect and fill stockings for the David Busby Centre. Together both teams filled a large box. It was an overwhelming response that surprised the David Busby Rep. He was very grateful. The Midget AA also purchased 25 cans of canned cranberries to go with their turkey dinner on Thurs. Well done boys.
After a few pictures it was on to warm up and puck drop. Barrie won 2 to 1 but the real winner was The David Busby Centre. It was a special night to give to those in need.
