MINOR PEEWEE "A" TEAM SOARS OVER HAWKS IN THE LAND OF
THE PENGUINS!
The Barrie Colts Minor Peewee 'A' team played in the Pittsburgh
Fall Classic Tournament from Oct. 23-25, 2015.
The Colts entered the 4 team division within their age category and played some very tough teams including West Hill Golden Hawks AA team, Ann Arbor Wolverines and Troy Sting. The team played a 3 game round robin with 2 wins (scores of 5-3, 3-1) and one Tie (3-3 to the AA Golden Hawks) ranking second. In the Championship game, the Colts played a mostly short-handed, edge-of-the-seat game that ended in a 2-2 tie at the end of regulation time. To break the tie, they played an exciting, fast paced 4 on 4 for 5 minutes, followed by a 5 man shoot out where they beat the formidable AA Hawks, with goalie James Tower making some incredible saves! The two shoot out goals came from Hutton Burgess and Brett Busby. The Barrie Colts A team played with tenacity, competing extremely well in a tough category and proudly donning their gold medals while traveling home to Barrie. Way to go Colts!
