Barrie Peewee White Division Royal Blue team wins Doug Perkes Memorial Peewee Tournament
Submitted By Patrick Harris on Thursday, February 11, 2016
Barrie Peewee White Division Royal Blue team participated in the Doug Perkes Memorial Peewee Tournament on February 5-7th. Thinking they may have to forfeit attending the tournament due to goalie injury, the team came together with players offering to go in net, however, our goalie pushed through and together with his teammates not only attended the tournament but won the tournament!

The team went on to have 33 goals for and only a mere 10 goals against after 3 games to place them in the 'A' Division Championship Game against the Petrolia Oilers.

It was an uneventful first period in the game with the scoring not starting until the second. But "wow!" did the scoring come then. Petrolia started the scoring three minutes into the period with Barrie replying with a goal of their own a couple minutes later. Petrolia popped in two goals with 5 and 3 minutes to go in the period to take a 3-1 lead. But in the final three minutes of the period Barrie unleashed a goal scoring flurry as they scored three goals to take a 4-3 lead going into the third. Barrie added to their lead with four goals in the third and won the "A" Championship 8-3 over Petrolia.  Way to go boys!
