Atom AE win OMHA Championship
Submitted By Jill Robertson on Monday, March 21, 2016
Back to Back OMHA Champions The Larway Transportation Atom AE team repeated as OMHA Champions this weekend capping off an undefeated playoff run.

The team celebrated their second consecutive OMHA Championship by defeating the Halton Hills Thunder 5-2 in the third game of the series. The boys finished their memorable season with a 66-4-2 record, having lost twice to a strong and disciplined Thunder team during the season. After a crushing 2-1 defeat at the hands of Halton Hills in the Finals of the International Silverstick Tournament in January, the team reset in anticipation of meeting the same Halton team in the OMHA finals. The boys worked extremely hard, changed their game plan and style and never lost again, earning every inch of ice they skated on in the past 2 1⁄2 months. They practiced with pressure, they skated to exhaustion, they all bought in to the discipline, work ethic and structure that would eventually make them into the Champions that they are. The team would like to thank Larway Transportation for the sponsorship this season. A big thank-you to our coaching staff and Manager who invest all of themselves into these boys. A special thank-you to our AP players who came to practice and worked our boys, the role you all played in our successful season cannot be measured, but it certainly was vital in the last month and it is appreciated. We would also like to thank the Barrie Minor Hockey Association for all the support they have given this team in the past year, without it, we could not be as successful as we have been. To all of our players, you have “owned the moment” all season, you are now Champions, we are all proud of you and thank you for this unbelievable season.
