Barrie Atom Black take silver in Niagara Falls Winter Thaw Tournament
On March 18-20 the Atom Black team #7 took part
in the Niagara Falls Winter Thaw Tournament.
The kids finished with 3 wins and 1 loss in round robin to make it to the semi finals on Sun morning only to face the Barrie Atom Royal Blue team #8.
The game ended with a tie in regulation to force a 10 min sudden death overtime period. After 10min of continuous action from both sides and outstanding goaltending the game went to a shoot out. In the end Team Black was the victor winning the shoot out and the game 3-2.
A couple of the players said it was like winning the Stanley Cup to them.
The team went on to the Championship game to face Valley East only to lose a tough,hard fought game, but brought back the Silver to Barrie.
Team Black included: Maya Attwell, Carter Smith, Jackson Saucier, Lucas Caughlin, Zach Fizzard, Dawson Beuck, Ben Cade, Dylan Miller, Lorenzo Zambito, Griffin Trembath, Colby Faulkner, Josh Seckler, Aimee Pendleton and Goaltender Carter Pritchard.
Great Tournament players and a great way to finish off the season.
