2021 - 2022 Season
The Initiation Program is designed for children ages 3 – 8 years just learning to love the game of hockey.
U4 (Squirts) 3 years
A 20 week program divided into 10 weeks of ‘learn to skate’ followed by 10 weeks of ‘learn to play hockey’.
This is a ‘learn to’ program with emphasis only on fun and introduction. Participants will be divided after the first week or two into a beginner and novice skating class.
Participants are expected to wear a helmet, full cage, skates, warm jacket and mittens for the first 10 weeks. When we shift to the 10 week ‘learn to play hockey’, participants will need to wear full hockey equipment including mouth guard and neck protector. In the 'learn to play hockey' portion of the program, players become Timbits and receive their team jersey. With the focus shift, pucks are introduced and players learn basic stick handling and enjoy informal scrimmages.

The next 10 weeks will include practices with informal scrimmages in a station based format with Hockey Canada recommended split ice.
