Defense wins championships! That's what Coach Dan Schaly teaches his players and that's exactly what happened this past weekend, November 6-8 in Pittsburgh.
The team allowed only 2 goals in the five games they played and that included a 5-0 shutout in the championship game! Brett Michals slammed the door in net for that final game against the Burlington Eagles and Josh Schaly had 2 shutouts including one in the semi-finals against the Pittsburgh Predators. It was a total team effort by all the boys executing every system they had learned to near perfection.
Coach Dan also said that with a good defense it will bring a good offense and that it did. The boys scored 24 goals with a balanced 3 lines of offense which was highlighted by Ryan Russell(5G,2A) Brock Taylor(3G,4A) Marcus Stolte(5G,1A including a hat-trick) and our "Animal", Owen Johnston(1G,5A). A special shoutout to Jack Hexemer who missed the final game due to illness.
All the boys played their hearts out, found that extra gear and learned how to compete to win a championship.
