Canadian Tire Classic Champions
The Larway Transportation Barrie Minor Atom A won the Canadian Tire Classic Tournament hosted locally in Barrie between November 28th and November 30th.
The Team went undefeated throughout the tournament with a final record of 5-0 and out scoring their opponents 23-3. Collectively, the boys played their finest hockey of the season dominating the opposing teams from Pickering, Brantford and London and proceeded through their first 3 games giving up only one goal and advancing to the semi-finals.
A victory against Pickering once again in the semi's and shutting out their opponent 4-0, gave the team some additional confidence going into the finals.
In the finals, the determined Barrie Colts players entered the 3rd period with a 3-0 lead, fending off a late rally by a pesky Brantford 99'ers team. Barrie hung on for the victory winning 4-2, proudly winning the home town tournament. The players look to build on their tournament success this weekend as they travel to Detroit, Michigan for the Motown Cup Classic.
