On the weekend of Oct 21st to 23rd
Barrie Colts Bantam AE Blue traveled to Ottawa for the 3rd Annual
Volunteer Cup. Although it rained the
entire weekend we had an amazing weekend both on and off the ice!
On Friday we had a personalized tour of Parliament Hill from our Barrie/Innisfil MP John Brassard. Some of the highlights of the tour were being in the House of Commons and sitting in the MPs seats, visiting the “Red Room” and the amazing Library. Most of the team remembered the shooting of Corporal Nathan Cirillo which was 2 years prior almost to the day (Oct 22nd), the bullets holes have been left in the walls as a memory of the event.
Saturday was just as action packed after playing 2 hard fought games we headed to Canadian Tire Centre to watch the Senators Vs Tampa Bay. The boys cheered as Captain Steven Stamkos picked apart the Senators for a 4-1 win.
