About The Head Coach
With over 15 years of coaching experience, I’ve dedicated much of my life to the game I love. Born and raised in Barrie, I proudly played for the BMHA until the age of 17 and later contributed as a referee within the same organization.
Throughout my coaching career, I’ve had the privilege of leading teams from U9 through U14, reaching the OMHAs every single year, a testament to the consistent effort and development of the players and coaches that I’ve worked with. Highlights include winning the OMHA Red Hat Finals with the U12 BB team in 2023 and again with the U14 BB team in 2025.

Coaching Philosophy
My goal as a coach goes beyond wins and standings, I’m here to help shape confident, disciplined, and resilient young athletes who carry those traits with them both on and off the ice. 
I believe in building a team culture rooted in accountability, respect, and relentless effort. Every player brings value to the team, and every role is vital to our success. 
I focus heavily on strong fundamentals, hockey IQ, and team-first play, creating a structured environment that still allows for creativity and smart decision-making. My coaching style is high-energy and purposeful; designed to challenge players while fostering a deep love for the game. 
Play hard. Play smart. Earn every shift. That’s our standard, and that’s how we grow, together.

What I Look For:
A mix of skills and character traits that contribute to both individual performance and team success:

1. Skating – Speed, edge work, agility, and balance
2. Puck Skills – Handling, passing, and shooting precision
3. Hockey IQ – Smart positioning, quick decisions, and game awareness
4. Work Ethic – Consistent effort, strong attitude, and competitiveness
5. Coachability – Willingness to listen, learn, and adapt
6. Team Play – Communication, supportiveness, and understanding of systems

Raw talent matters—but just as important to us are hustle, positivity, and being a great teammate. We want to see players who lead with effort, respect others, and bring energy every shift.
