UNDEFEATED AT NEWMARKET EARLY BIRD TOURNAMENT!
The Charon Clute Desjardins Insurance U12 BB Barrie Colts have kicked off their season in winning style!
The team went a perfect 5-and-oh at the Newmarket Early Bird tournament this weekend en route to a gold medal. The Colts faced off against the West Niagara Aces in Sunday’s championship game. The affair remained scoreless after a spirited first period of play but the Colts broke things open in the second. Miles Cain made it 1-0 early in the period, then Logan Culp, Mitchell Bednarczyk and Alex Mitrofonov scored in rapid succession to put the game away for Barrie. The goaltending duo of Keiran Kerfoot and Lennox Lasseter were perfect in the tournament, not allowing a single goal against the entire weekend.
