The PeeWee AA team has gone "2 for 2" in tough tournaments this year!
After
winning the highly-competitive Richmond Hill AA Early Bird Tournament in
September, the Barrie Colts Cube-it PeeWee AA have won their second tournament
of the year - the AAA Wally Beavis tournament in Peterborough November
14-16.
On Sunday, the Colts beat the Oshawa Generals 4-1 in the semi-finals, on the shoulders of solid goaltending by Owen Kellachan.
In the final, Barrie faced a fired-up Upper Canada (Ottawa) Cyclones team that hadn’t lost all weekend. But Barrie was equal to the task and Colt's goaltender Jason Howell was outstanding as the Colts prevailed 3-1 to win the Championship.
The Barrie Colts Cube-it PeeWee AA team is actually a repeat Champion, having won this AAA tournament in Peterborough in 2013 as well.
