Swiss Chalet Minor Bantam AA Wins Richard Bell Memorial Tournament
The Minor Bantam AA team, sponsored by Swiss Chalet, won their second tournament of the season in as many tries. The team travelled to Oakville during the Christmas break to participate in the highly competitive Richard Bell Memorial Tournament.
During the three day tournament, the Colts played seven games concluding the round robin portion with a 3-1-0 record. A 4-3 win in the quarter final against the Mississauga Jets set up a memorable semi final game against the Northumberland Nighthawks. The Colts came through with a game tying goal with only 10 seconds left in the third and won it in overtime 3-2. In the final, Barrie prevailed 3-1 over the Orangeville Flyers to win the tournament.
