The Barrie Novice A hockey team are the York Simcoe Champions!
The Novice A boys won the York Simcoe Championship last night at the Barrie Molson Centre, with an exciting nail-biter of a win 4-3 against the Bradford Bulldogs.
It was a best of five series and Barrie was up 2-1 heading into the fourth game. The Bulldogs were honorable and did not go down without a serious fight. Barrie was up 3-0 in the middle of the first period before Bradford was called for tripping, resulting in a penalty shot. Barrie scored on the penalty shot staking them to a 4-0 lead!
With 45 seconds left in the first, Bradford scored and then added two more in the second to draw within a goal of Barrie going into the third.
The Colts held on in the thrilling third period to win the York Simcoe Cup!
