PeeWee, 2015-2016, AA (Barrie Minor Hockey)

The Peewee AA team, sponsored by Swiss Chalet, finished off a successful season by winning the York Simcoe championship over Richmond Hill. This caps a season which included four tournament wins, and an overall record of 54 wins, 16 losses and 6 ties. The Peewee AA team, sponsored by Swiss Chalet, won the 21st Annual Glenn Bellerby tournament held January 8th-10th in Barrie.  This is the fourth tournament win for the team this season.

Congratulations to the Peewee AA team on winning the Georgina Regional of the International Silver Stick Tournament. The team finished the tournament with a perfect 5-0-0 record, defeating the Markham Waxers by a score of 1-0 in the final. Winning the regional tournament qualifies the team to participate in the International Silver Stick Finals being held in Port Huron, Michigan from January 21st to 24th, 2016. This is the team’s third tournament win of the season. Keep up the great work boys!

Congratulations to the Peewee AA team on their second tournament win of the season. The team travelled to Halifax to take part in the Jordan Boyd Memorial Tournament held in Bedford, Nova Scotia.  This tournament was renamed in 2013 in memory of Jordan Boyd who tragically died while playing hockey, after suffering cardiac arrest.  The boys were able to meet with Stephen and Deborah Boyd, who were deeply moved that the team travelled so far to take part in the tournament honouring their son.

   The Peewee AA team will be travelling to Halifax on Thanksgiving weekend to play in the Jordan Boyd Memorial hockey tournament.  This will be the first time some our players have ever been to the east coast.   This trip allows us to show the boys other areas of our country while representing Barrie Minor Hockey.
