The Georgian Chevy Barrie Colts Minor Atom A team captured
the silver medal over the weekend in the Kitchener Early Bird tournament.
The team started the tournament with a 3-1 win over Woodstock Friday morning followed by a 2-1 win over Sarnia that afternoon.
On Saturday, the Colts fell behind 2-0 to London but were able to battle back for a 3-2 victory. The win secured first place for the team and a bye into Sunday’s final.
In the final, the Colts once again met up with Sarnia. It was a hard fought game by both teams but Sarnia was able to squeak a 1-0 win.
Next up for the Minor Atom A Colts are two exhibition games this week against Innisfil before starting the regular season September 23rd in Markham.
